The Star Trek Encyclopedia by Michael OkudaMy Trekkie friend gets out of the car, Hey I have a present for you.
Well, I mean, you cant keep it.
Now at this point Im wondering what sort of present is not kept.
She hands me a book, Its a Star Trek encyclopedia.
Seasoned Trekkie from Trekkie family loans a Trek encyclopedia to a relatively new watcher who is (sadly) only 17 episodes from the end of TNG.
A comment on being almost done with TNG: I want to watch DS9, but Im really going to miss Data. I love Data.
Now, my Trekkie friend and her family are very against spoilers, yet they have loaned me this giant encyclopedia.
I hate spoilers.
Am I going to read this encyclopedia anyway?
Yes. Because it looks amazing.
Also because I will have to give it back and I dont think I have time to watch the rest of the Trek franchise before a reasonable loaning period has passed.

Authors Michael Okuda and Denise Okuda originally created The Star Trek Encyclopedia back in , packing it with references to all the Star Trek television series and films up until that point. You might remember the authors from their contributions to the Bonus Features on several Trek television series DVDs, especially the remastered Original Series. The book was eventually reprinted in , and in , an Updated and Expanded Edition added in a page addendum to include information through the end of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and the fifth season of the Star Trek: Voyager television series, as well as the film Star Trek: Insurrection. But a lot has happened in the Star Trek franchise in the past 17 years, such as the end of Voyager , the creation of the Star Trek: Enterprise television series, the tenth feature film Star Trek: Nemesis , and of course, the reboot of the entire Trek universe starting with director J. Except for Beyond , information on everything else is now included and collated into the new Revised and Expanded 2-volume hardcover set, which, by the way, is fully authorized. For any Trek fan, having this glorious set in your collection will be amazing.
