Man Gave Names to All the Animals by Bob DylanWhimsical and witty, “Man Gave Names to All the Animals” first appeared on Bob Dylans album Slow Train Coming in 1979. Illustrator Jim Arnosky has now crafted a stunning picture book adaptation of Dylans song thats a treat for both children and adults, with breathtaking images of more than 170 animals plus a CD of Dylans original recording.
The revered musical legend rarely allows his songs to be illustrated, and Arnosky has done the song proud with a parade of spectacular creatures ready to receive their names-until the surprise ending, when children get to name an animal themselves!
Books about Grandparents
It brings us so much joy to see our parents love our children so intensely. Since we live within a few miles of both sets of grandparents, they have a unique relationship that I hope our kiddos will treasure their entire lives. With Grandparents Day coming up on September 7th, I thought I would share some books about grandparents! These would be fun to read aloud to your child in preparation for seeing their grandparents or they would even make a great gift! Then he puts on a show, which delights his grandchildren. Each one of us have lived a unique and exciting life in one way or another…this book is a great introduction to talking about those experiences with our children and grandchildren! Not only is this book a Caldecott winner, it is a precious book about the relationship between grandparents and a grandchild.

See a Problem?
Creating family legacy moments and more through reading the best in children's literature. I wish he was here to answer my questions and to tell his stories. I met him and then he was gone. The story is warm and the illustrations fit perfectly. Song and Dance Man is a superb whole class read-aloud; or one-on-one read while snuggling in a rocking chair. Grandpa once danced on the vaudeville stage, and as he glides across the floor, the children can see what it was like to be a song and dance man. Utterly original.
