Animal Farm - Power Corrupts, and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely
Orwell simply loathes revolution and thinks it is unfair to the majority, for the people. He thinks that while individuals change, the people in power are always corrupt and they will corrupt any attempt at change. He communicates. Power makes one feel as if that person was a God, which is a sign of the corruption in that individual. According to Lord Actin, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely," states that power can make an individual vulnerable to corruption. The second portion of Lord Actin? Animal Farm is a story about oppressed animals overthrowing their humans and taking control over the farm.
Im doing a essay and my major question is annoying me so very much!! Power is authority and strength, which is any form of motive force or energy, ability to act, or control. When too much power is given, a dictatorship government can form, in which all decisions are made by one authority. In "Animal Farm", George Orwell portrays how "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely". In the story Old Major, who is a respected animal on the farm, had given a speech to stir the animals emotion into rebellion. He used his power of respect and trust to persuade the others to pursue the vision in his dream. Old Major had all the power.
The quote is saying that when you are given all of the power, you become crazy and it all comes tumbling down on yourself from the destruction. The leader Napoleon, a pig, receives absolute power on the Animal Farm and corrupts absolutely. Three ways he shows this is when he sends his guard dogs after Snowball, he had the animals committing crimes that they did not do so they would wish to be killed, and learned that life on Animal Farm will sadly never change. Napoleon wanted all of the power so he got rid of his only competition. This is where absolute power comes into hand. Jones and the others had destroyed the windmill not Snowball. It shows that the animals no longer wished to be on the Animal Farm anymore and the only way out of being there was death.
Introduction: Widely acknowledged as a powerful allegory, the novella 'Animal Farm', conceived from the satirical mind of acclaimed author George Orwell, is a harrowing fable of a fictional dystopia that critiques the socialist philosophy of Stalin in terms of his leadership of the Soviet Union. Tired of their servitude to man, a group of farm animals revolt and establish their own society, only to be betrayed into worse servitude by their leaders, the pigs, whose initial virtuous intentions.
