The slow demonstration in part 2 is probably the correct way to play it but the tab is wrong, often showing that one picks from the E string as opposed to the B. Also i don't think Justin mentions that you hit 2 strings on the upstrokes not 1 you can clearly hear this mind you. Also you occasionally hit 2 BASS notes. Take the Bb6 chord for instance. This is a classic Neil Young track. Neil is just totally where it's at, even after all these years. This is one of my personal favourite tunes by Neil Young, fun to play and loads of interesting things going on. Hope you enjoy it too! Just honest music, from what many people believe to be the first true punk-grunge idol. This is chord based fingerpicking. You should form the chords at the beginning of each measure and hold the chord form until the next chord form comes along to allow each note to ring as long as possible. Play the second fret, and then play it open. For the second measure, use your thumb and wrap it around the top of the neck. Play this throughout the measure. Play accordingly.
These tabs are also used in the verse with one difference shown below , as well as the breaks between each verse. Pay attention to the up- and down-strum notations, as these are important for emphasizing both the bass note and melody via the highest note. A terrific video showing how to play this can be seen here. After the C and F, you continue to the Esus4 and E -- those remain the same. Listen along for reference. Sometimes Neil plays this little riff on the final E to end each verse.
