The Walking Dead, Issue #172 by Robert KirkmanWow....that one was a really quick read! I think it was shorter by a few pages compared to the regular TWD monthly issue.
The title of this issue is Hilltop Reborn. (view spoiler)[ And, yes, that is part of it (hide spoiler)], which makes me happy to see (view spoiler)[it starting to be rebuilt (hide spoiler)]. It was mostly about romantic relationships among the group. I was gonna say, maybe George Romero was right when he said that ...The Walking Dead is too much of a soap opera.. And I can still say that. Or maybe its partly soap opera sometimes, and action/ zombie horror the rest.
In the Letter Hacks page in the back, one dude wrote in claiming to not be homophobic but not only made homophobic remarks but misogynistic ones as well. Now, artists and writers who work in the comic book industry are supposed to have a thick skin...but Robert Kerkman and the editor, Sean Mackiewicz...chewed his ass out for saying what he said. And, in this case they were right to do it cause he was pretty damned rude. There was another dude who wrote a letter that didnt seem bad but Kirkman and the editor sort of gave the same thing to him too. I dont know why they did that. I guess you can have a thick skin, but it gets to a point where someone will start to chew.
Back to the story, The Princess is still (view spoiler)[a little annoying but slowly gaining the trust of Michonne and the search party (hide spoiler)]. I actually think her character might grow on me. Shes probably just a little misunderstood.
Thats it. There are two more issues left in 2017, cant wait for them and hope things pick up. Something is supposed to happen with Negan in December ( Im going by the cover on that one ).
The Walking Dead #172
The Walking Dead is an on-going story about a group of people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. The Walking Dead centers around Rick Grimes , a former police officer who was shot in the line of duty and wakes up from a coma after the world has succumbed to the zombie plague. Dazed from months in the hospital, and confused as to why he can't find anyone alive, he makes his way home only to find his wife and son missing. The only survivors are Morgan and Duane who adopted Rick's neighbors house as their new home since the area appeared less infected. After Morgan tells Rick the cities would be safe, Rick packs up supplies from his police station and travels to Atlanta in search of his family. Arriving in the city on horseback, Rick is overcome by a horde of zombies and narrowly escapes death with the aid of another survivor named Glenn , who has been scavenging the city for supplies.
It was published on October 4, Juanita tells Michonne she's got to work on her sense of humor and goes inside the building. Yumiko says that they should let her tag along, commenting that at least the trip would be 'entertaining'. Michonne is about to ride away when Juanita comes out with a backpack and a large spear she found within the city. When asked if she can give back her gun, Michonne declines; Juanita shrugs it off, stating she has others.

A Plot Filled With Crucial Filler
Much of that changes with the last page in this issue, and everything beforehand seems even more critical than ever. Magna still expresses hesitation, but Yumiko simply blurts out to the crowd that they are both gay and together. This is rather insensitive, but the result is rather humorous: nobody is really surprised, nor do they care that much. The metaphor is subtle. Carl and Lydia go over their relationship; Carl and Sophia talk of theirs; Jesus and Aaron leave Alexandria and head for the Hilltop; and Rick continues to grieve over Andrea.
