Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope by Ryder WindhamI really enjoyed this book, but there were some dislikes I had. The wording was a tiny difficult at times. There were some proper nouns with weird names like Mos Eisley and Tantive IV. I really liked the occasional action and suspenseful moments. Such as the events taken place in the death star. I think that the strengths are that it had a well thought story that introduced some pretty cool futuristic devices and tools. I think that the weaknesses are that some of the wording can be a little strange and confusing, that can be hard to catch on to. I think this book is part of a series. I think that there are five other books in the series. I will read the rest of the series if I can. People who like Science fiction books or are Star Wars fans would surely like this book. If you like star wars or have a taste for science fiction, then I recommend this book to you.

An Imperial Star Destroyer attacks a Rebel convoy in search of the stolen plans to their new battle station, the dun dun dun Death Star. Leading the campaign is the evil masked man Darth Vader. He and his forces search the entire ship but find no plans, just Princess Leia and a bunch of rebels we will never see or hear from again. Unbeknownst to the Empire, two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2, escaped with the plans and have landed on the desert planet below. They are purchased by a farmer named Owen Lars and his nephew, Luke Skywalker. Luke follows the little droid, and after a tussle with some Sand People, they find the one and only Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan lays down some truth on the young Luke, telling him about his lightsabers, the Force, and Luke's father's fate.
Many settlers scratch out a living on moisture farms, while spaceport cities such as Mos Eisley and Mos Espa serve as home base for smugglers, criminals, and other rogues. The planet is also known for its dangerous Podraces, rampant gambling, and legalized slavery. The Mos Eisley cantina is a dimly-lit tavern known for its strong drinks, hot tunes, and occasional outbreaks of shocking violence. Most star pilots visiting Tatooine spend their downtime in the cantina, making it an ideal spot to hire a starship's crew. It was the location of the principal rebel base early in the Galactic Civil War, and the site from which the Rebellion launched the attack that destroyed the first Death Star -- a confrontation known thereafter as the Battle of Yavin. Despite her humble origins and shabby exterior, the Millennium Falcon has played a role in some of the greatest victories of the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic.
