John Denvers Take Me Home, Country Roads (Audio CD Included) by John Denver

We recently heard a cover of this song while eating lunch at a restaurant and I reminisced about hearing John Denvers original version over and over in my youth. So when I saw this book at my local library, I jumped at the chance to share it with our girls.

It was a fantastic way to share the homey feeling of the song, and now that we live in Virginia (its much closer to West Virginia than where I grew up), our girls understand the pull of the beautiful country roads and the Shenandoah River.

The illustrations are gorgeous and look quilted. The scenes are classic West Virginia settings and the way that the words follow the songs pace is fantastic. We really enjoyed reading this book together and singing the song very loudly...a couple of times.

I couldn't have the Deitchrei fall since it's essentially a buffer state between me, the Rust Empire, and the eldritch mess that is Post-Invasion New England. Only did I realise that the Deitch switched from Anabaptist to Atomist and now they plan to invade me and my crippled 2K army, debt and the Kingdom of Florida trying to invade Tennesse Exactly, the Rust Empire is almost guaranteed to form in my games too and they are a pain in the assssss. Not really.

Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads. All my memories gather round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away And driving down the road I get a feeling That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday.
