Homemade Silly Putty

I modified this recipe from the one found at Creative Playhouse. The colour of your silly putty will depend on the type of dish soap you use. If you use green dish soap, like we did, it will have a greenish tinge to it. If you use clear dish soap, it will be white. And so on.

The glue and borax method will produce putty most like the commercial product, but the other ways of making putty are fun to play with as well. Using glitter glue or colored glue is an easy way to brighten up your Silly Putty. Just make sure your glue isn't labeled "washable" as that won't work as well. Read on for another quiz question. If you want to add your own glitter to your Silly Putty, add it directly to the glue before adding Borax.
