Clean & Lean Diet Cookbook: Over 100 Delicious Healthy Recipes with a 14-Day Menu Plan by James Duigan

I love owning this book, I come back to it time and again for inspiration and ideas. I dont really make any of the recipes, but I like the concepts, tips and tricks, and the lovely photos. Its a bit like watching cooking shows for me: I take the idea behind the recipe and then incorporate it into my normal day to day cooking routine. The clean and lean philosophy makes a lot of sense and isnt too far fetched or difficult for an ordinary person. If youre thinking of starting a more healthy lifestyle, this book is a good pep-talk to get started and stay on the right track.

The secret world of membership libraries

Inspired by Times Higher Education article we with help of MC2 Homework Service have compiled a list of the most beautiful libraries in the world. We are excited to share these findings with you! The best part: most of these libraries are open for visits , so you can check them out if you are on holidays in any of the countries these libraries are located. Sharing is caring! Not only is the Trinity College Library beautiful, but it is also the largest library in Ireland and also the permanent home to the famous Book of Kells — a manuscript created by Celtic monks around the year This historic building found on the south side of College Green, Bristol, England was completed in by Charles Holden; the combination of its architectural styles is one of the most fascinating and unique features of this library. The front exterior architecture was built on a slope, which falls away sharply to the south; it has two basement levels, and the building has only three stories visible at the front, while the back has five visible stories.

Public libraries are a relatively new phenomenon. Before the s, when Andrew Carnegie started funding the more than 1, library buildings that bear his name, most libraries in America were subscription-based, with members funding and shaping the collections. The majestic space immediately appealed to my aesthetics, but I had no idea of its history. While public libraries remain a vital resource for the community, membership libraries serve a self-selected clientele looking for something more. On quiet days, the Mercantile Library is my private aerie, a literary hideout of mahogany and leather. These were a distinctly American invention—the first subscription library did not appear in England until Its board realized it had to reinvent the organization to maintain relevance in a world replete with public libraries.

The period — witnessed the emergence of the local public library as a widespread and enduring American institution. We document the expansion of public libraries in the United States using data drawn from library surveys conducted by the federal Bureau of Education. We then review causal accounts for that expansion. Exploiting cross-state and temporal variation in the data, we use statistical techniques to assess a number of plausible demand-and-supply factors affecting the pace of library development. Social and economic variables in the analysis include state income or wealth, urbanization, ethnic composition, and gender ratios.

A public library is a library that is accessible by the general public and is generally funded from public sources, such as taxes. It is operated by librarians and library paraprofessionals , who are also civil servants.
